Children get excited about playing with toy cars and trucks, and they spend time at school building roads out of blocks, putting together train tracks, and driving vehicles around the playground. Children are curious about the different types of roads they see, where roads go, how roads are made, how roads connect us, and the kinds of jobs that involve building or repairing roads.
We took several eggs out of the incubator to look at them with the egg candler. A candling lamp is a scientifically designed, purpose made lamp for inspecting the embryo development during incubation. We dimmed the lights and took turns observing the interior of the eggs. All of the eggs we observed had baby chicks in them. Only three more days to go, and we can hardly wait!
What a day this has been! We came in this morning to find we had 5 baby chicks in the incubator. We are up to a total of 8. Nine more eggs to go......we are super duper chicken hatchers!
Some have said this has been the best week ever. It's not every day a Pre-K class gets to witness the hatching of baby chicks. We are getting ready for the sad goodbye tomorrow, but I was able to capture some pretty cute pictures of the kiddos with the chicks. Just look at these precious smiles.....
