Contracts for each school year begin in August and end in June, but salaries are paid out over twelve months. Teaching faculty must have a bachelor’s degree and hold teaching certification or be in the process of earning certification. Master’s degree is a plus. Staff is employed on a per/hour basis.
St. James Day School offers education in an atmosphere that is healthy, moral, and intellectual. Students believed to have ability, discipline, and a record of academic achievement will be considered for admission when there is an opening in a particular grade level. Prior to admission, preschool applicants must be three years old for admittance to our Primary I program, three years of age by June 1 for Primary II classes, four to five years of age for Pre-K, and five to six years of age for Kindergarten. St. James recognizes its inability to provide special services such as speech, hearing, behavior modification, or learning disability tutoring. Therefore, there are valid reasons why St. James must set definite requirements for entrance. Families interested in enrolling a child are requested to visit with the Head of School and tour our campus before submitting an application for admission.
