Pat Wagy, an Illinois native, earned her B.S. in Education at Southern Illinois University—Carbondale, and taught in Central City, Illinois, Tallahassee, Florida, Rockmart, Georgia, and Rome, Georgia before moving to Texas. Her dedication to St. James began in 1984 when she was hired as the 4th grade teacher. Ms. Wagy has been twice honored as an outstanding teacher by the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at North Texas State University, nominated each time by former St. James students. Her thirtytwo-year teaching span at St. James has earned her the love and respect of two generations of St. James students. Pat's husband, Dr. Tom Wagy, is a state-honored history professor for TAMU-T. Most years, he tours India, China, and various countries of the Orient as well as European countries to research historical information for his classes as well as his publishing career. Dr. Wagy is always gracious to share his insights and his knowledge with our Middle School classes. The Wagy's have one daughter, Angela, a third grade teacher in the San Antonio area, and two lovely granddaughters.
