about Nicole Chatelain, B.S., S.A.U.
Nicole Chatelain was born and raised in Texarkana. She was a member of the 1992 graduating class of Arkansas High School and the 1998 graduating class of Southern Arkansas University. Nicole received her Bachelor's degree in education, with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Health Education and begins her 13th year at St. James Day School this fall. Married to Matt Chatelain, they have one son, Jon Austin, who is in 4th grade at St. James this year! Along with teaching PE, Nicole is also a licensed Director of our After School Program. She has many interests outside of school — throwing darts, riding horses, going to the lake, playing softball, watching sports, martial arts, and most importantly, spending time with her family. (She even plays the trumpet!) She believes that teaching is an art, with everyone having their own style, but the outcome is always beautiful. She believes in teaching children life long skills that they can use throughout their entire life, whether it’s how to play badminton or how to work out their differences with an individual.
