about Jessica Miller, B.S. Vanderbilt University

Jessica Miller is no stranger to St. James. Raised in Houston, Jessica earned a B.S. degree at Vanderbilt University where she met her husband, a St. James alum from Texarkana! After earning her teaching certification from S.M.U., Jessica taught for one year at All Saints' Episcopal School in Lubbock. The next year, she moved to Texarkana and taught 2nd grade at St. James before her boys were born. Since then, two sons, Davis('13) and Austin('16), have graduated St. James, and Mason is currently a 5th grader at the school. After retiring to raise her boys, Jessica was a very active parent, chairing and volunteering for numerous Parent Club activities and events. She has been thoroughly trained in, and has taught Open Court phonics, a staple foundation for teaching reading for over 35 years at SJDS. Jessica is excited about returning to her teaching career in a school that believes in whole child development and differentiation according to each child's developmental abilities. Welcome back Jessica!
