"There is, in any population center, a small minority of parents who recognize that there can be a wide variation in the depth, breadth, richness, and spiritual character of education from one school to another, although the marks and diplomas issued by the schools may appear to be the same. These are the parents who want to offer their children every possible opportunity for developing their minds, their bodies, and their spirits to the fullest potential. These parents are the reason St. James Day School exists."
-from A Parish History by former Headmaster, the late J. Bettis Lawrence
St. James is fortunate to have a supportive group of parents, alumni, trustees and former trustees, and community friends who help us weather the financial ups and downs experienced by all private schools. Since tuition alone does not cover the cost of a child's education, we must depend on annual fund drives, a yearly gala auction, grants, and donations in order to provide the fine education experienced by students at St. James Day School.
W. TEMPLE WEBBER
TEMPLE GRANT — In the fall of 2009, W. Temple Webber and the Temple Foundation blessed St. James with an operating grant of $200,000. Early in our history, the school received monies from this foundation to support our scholarship fund. Financial aide is always a priority for St. James as we want a St. James education to be available to all students who have the aptitude and desire to study here.
GAYBLE MOSS AND KYLEE SULLIVAN
IN LOVING MEMORY — of our beautiful and talented second grade girls, Gayble Moss and Kylee Sullivan, whose lives are continuously celebrated by friends, family, and strangers through generous contribution to help preserve and sustain the school they both loved so dear.
IN LOVING MEMORY — of Emily Franks whose effervescent spirit is evident each day in the environmental outdoor globe given by her parents to honor Emily's love of recycling and saving the earth.
